Walk -Pelverata Falls

The falls drop off the western side of the Snug Tiers and mostly escaped the
recent bushfire. The walk is about 3km each way and climbs gradually from
Pelverata Road through a few different vegetation types. Most of the route is on
old logging tracks but the last 0.5km is quite rough. It is a pleasant walk at any
time of year. Meet 9.30am at Sandfly Memorial Ground (oval) for car pooling.
Please contact Christine Corbett if you are attending.

Walk - South Bruny Island

Meet at Kettering Oval at 9am to arrange car sharing. Please contact Peter Tuft for exact details and to register your interest. We will do two shortish walks in the Adventure Bay hinterland, one very short and easy, the other slightly more challenging. The Mavista Nature Walk, inland from Adventure Bay, only a few hundred metres each way. We will visit the Boyer’s unusual garden following that either explore Adventure Bay or climb Mt Mangana, the highest point on Bruny Island, the walk is less than 2km each way with a climb of about 130 m. j The vegetation is mostly low rainforest, perhaps cloud forest, and there are some good views from the top. The track may be a bit rough in places.

Mount Misery rises above Ranelagh to about 700m but it’s not a miserable place. The walk starts from Huon Bush Retreats and climbs through wet scleophyll and rainforest. Total distance about 6km with 300 m of height gain. Some parts of the track may be very muddy. Because part of the walk is on private property, Huon Bush Retreats request a small donation to help with track maintenance - bring some cash.
Meet at the Huon Bush Retreats picnic area at 10am

Please let Peter Tuft know if you are attending
