 Leaves: Often stem-clasping, 8-15 mm long, lance-shaped, concave, pointed, edges hairy.
 Flowers: Small, white, hairy inside, in tight groups at ends of branches.
 Flowering Time: Spring.
 Fruit: Small, dryish, green/black drupes.
Habitat/distribution: Abundant and widespread in poor soils.
Other notes: Not widely cultivated but suitable for poor soils. Propagate from tip cuttings.
